the schrag embryo sharing program
In 2002, we introduced the Schrag Embryo Sharing Program and due to its overwhelming acceptance, we look forward to its continued success. As many of you already know, we at Schrag Shorthorns, have a unique situation in that we have the capability to perform complete embryo transfer services (collection, freezing and implanting) right here, at our convenience, at a relatively low cost. We would like to take this opportunity to offer these advantages to you, our valued customer. Here is where the Embryo Sharing Program fits in. It is really quite simple. You may, at your option, bring your females that have been nominated for the Embryo Sharing Program (E.S.P.) back to Schrag Shorthorns where, we, at our expense, will super ovulate, flush, transfer and/or freeze the embryos. All transferable embryos will be shared 50% to owner and 50% to Schrag Shorthorns. The program costs you nothing. This allows us to continue to offer only the best in our Family Event Sale and hopefully acquire some of these valuable genetics back to continue building our program while also building yours. The program is totally optional; you are of no obligation to participate if you do not wish. We believe this is a tremendous opportunity, and a positive step towards the continued improvement of the Shorthorn breed. We hope you join us.

An example of the success of the Schrag Embryo Sharing Program: Mike Reedy's donor cow yielded 26 freezable embryos, and the owner received 13 grade 1 and 2 embryos at no expense!
